Engaging in various sustainable initiatives, they’re actively reducing their carbon footprint and fostering connections with local communities. Back in 2018, the team achieved a significant milestone by installing a 220kW hydro power turbine near the falls on the picturesque Inagh River beside the hotel. When the river is at its peak, they’re harnessing 100% of their electricity needs from the river – the only hotel in Ireland to generate sustainable electricity in this manner! In March 2021, the Falls Hotel and Spa received official recognition for their efforts, becoming a certified carbon-neutral property by GreenMark.ie through Green Hospitality Ireland.
